Minima Setup Guide
Download all the necessary files:
Before you install anything, please download all the necessary files and put them all together in a folder on your computer for easy access during the install process:
- Joomla Quick Installer (not needed if you're using an existing Joomla site)
- The Morph template
- The Configurator component
- Minima or the themelet of your choice
- Themelet assets (available on the themelet download page)
- Themelet demo images (available on the themelet download page - NB not all images on the demo have been included due to copyright so we have used blank images as placeholders.)
1. Getting setup using the Morph Quick Installer
It's very important to take note that the quick setup must NOT be used on an existing site. We can't stress this point enough. If you use this on a existing site you will lose all of your content, menus, etc. This is intended for a new install, using our Quick Installer only. We will not be held responsible if you ignore this warning.
Installation steps:
-
Install Joomla! using the Quick Installer
Start off by installing Joomla using the Quick Installer. Read the full step-by-step instructions (with video), do the install and then continue with the next step below.
-
Install Configurator, Morph and the themelet
Now that Joomla! is successfully installed, you can proceed with installing the Morph toolset. If this is your first time, we recommend you go through the comprehensive step-by-step tutorial (and video). Once the installation is completed, click "Launch Configurator" and follow the steps below.
-
Install the demo setup & themelet assets
In Configurator, go to the Tools tab > Universal Installer, and then:- Select the option "Upload Themelet Assets", select the assets file ([themelet-name]-themelet-assets.zip) and click "Upload and install".
- Select the option "Install demo content", select the demo setup file ([themelet-name]-demo-setup.sql) and click "Upload and install".
-
Extract and copy the demo images
Extract the "demo images" archive ([themelet-name]-demo-images.zip) to your hard drive. Now you will see the same format as your images directory on your joomla install "images > stories". Copy all folders inside the stories folder of the unzipped file to the "[joomla site root]/images/stories/" folder.
Do your images looks like they're not cropped or resized?
Make sure you have the plugin "SmartResizer" enabled/active. -
Voila! It really is that easy ;)
Once you have completed the above steps, your new Joomla site should look just like the online demo. If you get stuck at any stage of these steps, don't hestitate to create a post on the forums and someone from the team will hapily assist you.
